This is another Yellow Nape Amazon Parrot. DNA confirm it to be a male bird. He is a very fierce bird I had ever encounter. There is one time when I open the cage door slightly with my second finger inside holding the door, It jump and caught hold of my finger and bite hard onto it. Luckily the lower beak is on my nail, I manage to pull my finger off and there is two puncture mark on my finger. I intend to pair it with another female bird. The yellow feather on the nape is small.
I exchange this bird with my baby Blue & Gold Macaw Plus 4 bag of parrot mixture. I will call him Temper.

This is a Blue Fronted Yellow Wing Amazon. I bought it from a bird shop when it is still young. The potential is there for me to train it to talk. I chain it to a stainless steel stand. It has learn to talk and is not scare of people. When it talk, it sound very gentle and soft in sound. I still did not know it sex yet. The parrots in our wharehouse is not afraid of our cats roaming about and the forklift movement. Normally we wash the cages every weekend and also give them a bath. The feed bowl and water bowl will be change in the morning and evening time. I shall call it Gentle.

This is also a Double Yellow Amazon that I bought from my friend Jimmy at a special price. It should be a mature male bird that is imported from Canada many years back. I can consider it to be my second parrot that I purchase. It had been train to use bottle feed for water. His parrot call is different from the other Double Yellow pair. The cage used is make of stainless steel. I am looking out for a female bird to pair with him. His name is Micky.

This is my Yellow Crown Amazon that I kept at home. I think it is a female bird. She can only talk and does not know any parrot call. Her feather look very healthy and glow with a luminous green colour. She like to laugh, sing 'happy birthday to you' all day long and cockadoo-doo like a chicken. Every morning she greet us with 'Morning, I love you, How are you'. She is a very affectionate bird with feeling. When I bring her out, she like to show off her skill. When my daughter get near to her, she would want to bite her and had succeed in it. The feed bowl consist of two kind of seed mixture, Maqnum parrot mix and Sluis superior Menu for parrot. It have mixture of spirulina, chorella, fruits in it. Her name is call Ice.

This is the female Yellow Nape Amazon that I am going to pair with Tango. The body size is much smaller. She seen to be very good nature and can talk a few words. The two words that alway come from her are 'cherito & Lau Ta'. I bought it from a birdshop. The birdshop owner estimate her to be about eight to nine years. He told me that his client bought from him as a young bird and now ask him to sell as he had no time to take care of it. I shall call this female bird Cherita.

This is a very nice specimen of Yellow Nape Amazon. DNA test show it is a male bird. It is one of the most beautiful yellow nape I have ever seen. The feather on its head is alway puff up and it like to spread wide open its tail feather. His name is call tango. He used to dance and swing it head left and right. I used to touch his head but lately he is getting more aggressive. He has bitten me a few time. I will be pairing him to another female amazon soon. His name is call Tango.

This is my first parrot. Its an Africian Grey breed. I had seen it in my client birdshop for a few months without any buyer. It's been raise from young. The birdshop owner ask me to take it home since I like playing with it. They are willing to exchange the parrot for goods and I agree to it. His vocabury is quite large. Grey parrot is the best talking parrot among the parrot family. they can mimic sounds, whistles, bird call and talk like a human with the same tone and clarity. Its like having a conversation with them. They are shy bird in nature and are very talkative at home. When you bring them out it is difficult to get them to talk in public. I had him for around six years. As my wharehouse is getting crowded with birds, I decided to bring him home about three weeks ago. My wife like it more than my Yellow Crown Amazon as it talk too loud and are concern that it will disturb the quietness of our neighbourhood. His name is know as sweet.

This is the female bird. Smaller in size.

This is the male birds

The same breeding pair.

This cage house a pair of Double Yellow Amazon. The one in front of the feed bowl is the male one. Guess where is the female one ? The female one is presently in the nest box. It laid an egg either on Nov 2 or 3. My colleague call me about the good news on Nov 3. When I came back from my oversea trip on Nov 12, I peek inside the nest box. There is only an egg in sight. My friend used to tell me that amazon parrot usually have two to three egg at one time. By Nov 30, the baby bird should be hatch . I am keeping my finger cross.

This pair belong to my friend. Presently he breed the largest number of parrotlet in Singapore. I will try to interview him and post his breeding collection up in my blog if I got the chance to do it. I used to kept this pair in my house compound for a few months. The sound they create and call irritate my neighbour so much that they complain to me. I was annoy by my neighbour complain and I reply that he also have two dogs that bark and also smelly. In the end I also cannot stand the vocal sound that they call non stop for a few hours, so I had them transfer it to my wharehouse.

He had the pair for about eight years and they had laid egg for about 3 time without any success. I told him that I am interested in breeding amazon parrots and he immediately ask me to bring it back with me. Will post more picture at a later date. The male one is call Sugar while the female is call Honey.

This Blue & Gold Macaw is also a large bird, The tail feather of the Green Wing Macaw is short. Wonder whether it is broken. If they should breed, their offspring is know as Harlequin. I am planning to start them on ZuPreem breeder diet soon.

This are the third pair of my Macaw. The Green Wing is another female while the Blue & Gold is a male that I purchase from the birds importer. The nest box is still intact due to the fact that there is an aluminium plate covering the plywood. The female bird is often seen going into the nest box. They take a longer time to bond because the female one always bully the male one. I shall call the female GWF3 and the male BGM2.

This are a beautiful pair of Green Wing Macaw. The male size is large. He like to swing round the wooden support. They are very compatible to each other and always preeming each other feather. I have not seen them quarrel or bite each other. The male one have a bad habbit of using his large beak to push and grab the seed mixtures in its mouth and eat, but alot of seed mixture have been push out of the cup.

This is my second pair. They are both Green Wing Macaw. Presently there are no nest box. The whole nest box have been destroy by them. I had already made the nest box with reinforce aluminum angle along all edge. I had install a eight inch diameter hole metal plate in front of the opening of the nest box with a six inch diameter opening to prevent it from making the hole bigger than eight inch. I shall call the female GWF2 and the male GWM1.

The first pair male blue & gold size is huge. He has been kept as a pet bird before. Presently I am giving them quality seed mixture and fruits. I will be changing their diet soon into ZuPreem breeding Diet. I understand that top avian breeders in America are using them.

This is call first pair. The nest box is made of plywood. I paid my friend to made it. Later on, I add on the aluminium angle along all the edge. I had experience from the second pair of their destructive nature. As you can see, they had create such a big hole from a original size of six inch diameter. Even the side has also been damage. The Male one ( blue & gold ) is a shy one. He always try to get away from her. The female Green Wing alway made the first move. Presently she is preeming his feather and the male one do allow her to do it. I am building a new nest-box to replace the damage one. I shall call the female GWF1 and BGM1.

These are my three pair of Macaws. Initially I purchase two pair of Green Wing from the birds importer. I select them through the way they perform the courtship dance. They stick close to each other and chase other macaw away, so I presume that they must be a pair. I had them house in a temporary cages and sent their blood for DNA test. When the result came back, I only had a pair and two females birds. The bird importer want to buy back the females from me because eighty percent of all his imported macaws are all male.

Friends have told me that Green Wing Macaw is hard to breed and the success rate is very very low.
I split up the two females and put them into cage one and cage three. The center cage house a beautiful pair of Green Wing Macaw. The male one is a very large bird. Later on I purchase two more Macaws ( Blue and Gold Macaw ) one from the bird importer and another through a close contact and put them in cage one and two.

The cages are specially order and made from a cage manufacturer in China. The material used is stainless steel. Stainless steel cage are durable and are easy to maintain. They can withstand daily washing. One thing that disappoint me is that the quality on some of the stainless steel rod is of a lower grade. They do form some rust stain on the rod. It can be clean by using a steel brush to brush away the stain.
